Portraiture

I had so much fun learning about portrait photography this week! I learned that I’m terrible at posing people and a little self-conscious giving direction. Those are skills I definitely need to work on. Luckily, I was working with really photogenic people that could pretty much pose themselves and experienced portrait photographers.

I shot in a few different locations this week at different times of day, so I got a good taste of a lot of different lighting situations. One of the days, I shot with a group in the late afternoon when the sun was starting to set and I was able to capture some really cool lens flares. I love the sun in general, so I’d love to learn more about capturing flares.

I fell in love with the editing process this week–especially retouching. I included the original photos in this post because I’m really proud of the skills I learned and the work I did.
