Macro/Close Up Photography

Close up photography was the name of the game this week. I think macro photography is absolutely beautiful, and close up is the next best thing. I loved learning how to capture tiny details because I think the smallest details can be the most beautiful.

For this project, I put a 10x close up filter on a 75-300mm lens for my Canon T6. I don’t think my camera is the best for close up, so the photos are a little grainy. I think the lack of light was part of my problem. It was cloudy all week and I don’t have a fancy photography light. For some of the shots, I set up my phone flashlight on the highest setting and then put a receipt in front to diffuse the light a little. I’m happy with the results, though!

I took photos of my shoe, some of my jewelry, a water drop on a cucumber, and a flower. The flower photos turned out especially beautiful, so instead of one, I chose three.

  2. I love the close up pictures you got on the rose! I especially like the second one and how it has a more open and uses 2/3rd of the composition – It would be nice to get another shot with more of front petals in focus but it looks great! Nice Job!
